• INITIAL BASELINE TESTING
A. RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate): (click to view video) The
RMR test is a gas analysis technique,
which measures the minimum number of
calories your body needs to support its
basic physiological functions, including
breathing, circulating blood and all of the
numerous biochemical reactions required
to keep you alive. Your RMR is generally
60-75% of your total daily caloric
expenditure. Knowing the minimum
number of calories your body needs is
important if you’re trying to lose, gain or
maintain your current weight.
B. DEXA (Dual Energy X-ray
Absorptiometry): (click to view video) A relatively new
technology that is very accurate and
precise, DEXA is based on a three compartment
model that divides the body
into total body mineral, fat-free soft (lean)
mass, and fat tissue mass. DEXA is fast
becoming the new “gold standard”
because it provides a higher degree of
precisision in only one measurement and
has the ability to show exactly where fat is
distributed throughout the body. It is very
reliable and its results extremely
repeatable; in addition, the method is
safe and presents little burden to the
subject.
C. VO2 Max/Anaerobic Threshold Test:
(click to view video) to determine the exercise HR where an
individual burns the most fat.
D. iMett HR Training: (click to view video) Personalized
workout program based on VO2/AT
results.
