Resting EKG

The resting electrocardiogram, aka EKG, is a simple, painless test that records the heart’s electrical activity. This helps our doctors detect and study many heart problems, such as heart attacks, arrhythmias and heart failure.

The results can also suggest other disorders that affect heart function.

** You will need clearance from your primary care or treating healthcare provider before taking this test.

pulmonary function tests (pft)

Pulmonary Function Tests (PFT) measure how well your lungs work. This includes your ability to breathe and supply oxygen to the rest of your body.

Your doctor may order these tests as part of a routine physical if you’re experiencing lung problems or need to assess how well your lungs are functioning before undergoing surgery.

PREPARE FOR YOUR PFT:

VO2 Max Test

Improve your athletic performance with a VO2 Max test. Popular with weekend warriors and pro athletes, this is exercise test is the gold standard to measure your aerobic capacity.

You will breathe through a mouthpiece connected to a metabolic analyzer and wear a heart-rate monitor. The analyzer measures the volume as well as the percentage of carbon dioxide and oxygen in the expired gas.

The VO2 Max test indicates the potential of an athlete after several years of systematic, structured training.

** You will need cardiac clearance from your primary care or treating healthcare provider before taking the test.

PREPARE FOR YOUR VO2 MAX TEST:

Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR)

The Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) is a 10–20-minute breath test to determine the number of calories your body burns in a day at rest. You simply sit back, relax and breathe.  During the test, the air you breathe in and out is analyzed to figure how much oxygen your body uses to maintain basic life functions. Once completed, we use your RMR calories to provide a foundation for your calories burned during a day. We then add calories burned during activities of daily living and exercise calories to get a total calorie expenditure for the day. This is for anyone who is interested in losing weight, gaining weight or knowing their true metabolic rate.

PREPARE FOR YOUR RMR TEST:
